Welcome

Congratulations on whatever aviation goals you have accomplished.  If you are on this website I can assume you are looking for a designated pilot examiner (DPE) to administer a check ride for you or your student.  I truly understand how difficult scheduling can be and will do all I can to get you on my schedule.  Here are some top tips for getting on my schedule:

  1. We should only try to plan a check ride a few weeks in advance.

    • As an airline pilot, I only have my schedule about 2 weeks before the start of any month.  As much as I would like to schedule in advance, it really is impossible.

  2. Make sure you are check ride ready!

    • I have been a DPE for over 5 years and it has never worked to schedule before someone is check ride ready.  Being signed off in IACRA is even better!

  3. Come to 51R (Madisonville) if at all possible!

    • I live close to Madisonville and it is more often than not much easier for me to meet candidates at 51R.  While other airports are an option sometimes, it will be easier if we can schedule at 51R (Madisonville).
